Ethanol and E85– support it

In 2006 America imported $300 billion dollars of oil!  If you are tired of your oil and gas dollars going oversea to
countries who do not like us, then you need to support the Ethanol industry.
Ethanol is a high octane, liquid, renewable fuel source. In the United States, ethanol is typically produced from
corn and other grain products. But, in the future ethanol will also be  produced from other biomass resources
such as agricultural and forestry wastes. Here are a few advantages of ethanol: Ethanol reduces the incidence
of greenhouse gas emissions, ethanol is domestically produced and promotes energy independence, ethanol
production increases the value of feed grains grown by farmers, and ethanol is biodegradable and does not
contaminate water.

E85 is the term for motor fuel blends of 85 percent ethanol and 15 percent gasoline. E85 is an alternative fuel
as defined by the Energy Information Administration. E85 has superior performance characteristics over
gasoline. It is completely renewable, burns cleaner than gasoline, is environmentally friendly, enhances the
nation's economy and will help us become energy independent. When compared to gasoline, government tests
have shown that E85 vehicles reduce harmful hydrocarbon and benzene emissions. E85 also reduces carbon
dioxide (CO2), a harmful greenhouse gas and a major contributor to global warming.

I encourage all Americans to get behind the production of ethanol and E85. See important links page to contact
your elected officials.  Tell them to act now to facilitate the production, refining, distribution and marketing of
Ethanol and E85.
